Of course, Russian River Valley is not a city, it is an area beginning about 60 miles North of San Francisco, California. It is a particular kind of area, an AVA, an American Viticultural Area, now famous for especially Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. The movie is about wine, and grapes, but not exactly; it’s really about people, and like they say……..our loves, our labors, our struggles and our victories flavor our wines; they also tell our story in: From Obscurity to Excellence: The History of Grapes & Wine in the Russian River Valley.
